Arrival early morning at Dhanbad railway station from delhi ( sealdah-new delhi rajdhani express). meet our representative Transfer to hotel (sky lark) approx 5 km from station.take rest till  lunch..afterward visit shakti mandir (temple of goddes durga).later proceed for jharia ( 8km ) which is famous for its mining..visit B.C.C.L coal mines for mining tourism (special permits by G.M of B.C.C.L).evening  come back to city spent lesiure at bank more market.overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 2-DHANBAD-NIRSA-MAITHON (50 KM /2 HRS)

After breakfast proceed for Nirsa (35km) known for its industrial market visit Kapileswar mahadev temple(temple founded by pandavas during their exile).there is five shivlinga in the temple and the architect is very ancient.later proceed for maithon (15/km) famous for dam and its nautral beauty.check-in to hotel (maithon hotel) take rest till lunch then visit maithon dam (established in 1957,first in its type in south asia).enjoy boat riding ,speed boat,and visit tortoise island,sobuj deep, millenium park,dear park at evening enjoy walking on dam road and see the magnificient view of sunset.overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 3-MAITHON-PANCHET (30 KM /1 HRS)

After braekfast proceed for panchet dam( located at border of W.B & J.H on the foothills of panchkot pahar).visit panchkot garh( Temple of 1st century AD also u can go their by trekking).visit flower park,nehru park you can enjoy boat ride also there by local fisherman.afterward lunch visit snake park (run by local snake cathcher mobark bhai),you can see dozen type of cobra and python here and also diffrent types of birds.at evening proceed for farewell of dhanbad tour(60 km  from panchet) and catch the train for delhi (sealdah  new delhi rajdhani).

Panchet Dam

It is one of the most famous tourist spot of Dhanbad, well known for its scenic beauty.

It is supposed to be ideal destination for who want to get rid of humdrum life of city and want to enjoy the natural enviroment and worth view of nature.

                           54 KM From Dhanbad and 20 km from Asansol and 12 km from maithon 

                           nearest railway station is KUMARDHUBI (KMME) 8 KM of distance.

ABOUT PANCHET:

Panchet was the last of the multipurpose dam of DVC, which was constructed on 1959 and inaugurated by our first P.M..

This is a hydel power station of 80 mw made on Damodar river.

The reservoir is constructed under the foothills of PANCHAKOT hill...which is releted to TILAKAMPA kingdom of 1st century ad...DYNASTY of king SINGH DEO, who ruled here and made their grah (fort) on panchakot hill...but when the construction of dam was started the ruins of the garh  begun and later out of twenty temple of 1st ad only few  remain in panchakot hill.

NEHRU PARK:

one can enjoy the view of dam from this park and also spent their leisure time here ..this place is heaven for children..there are lots of JHULLAS and many more which can entertain childrens.

BOAT RIDE:

there is no boat riding facility in dam under the dvc authority..but you can go to the local fisherman who have traditional type of boat

FLOWER PARK:

Most known place now a days in panchet dam...flower park is run under the W.B govt..this project was much valueable  for dvc..

enjoy the beautiful decoration of park full of grass and flower.

PANCHAKOT HILL:

When you will cross the dam you will enter the area of Raghunathpur dist of  W.B. there is a hill known as panchakot hill or panch grah...there is a temple of ancient indian time..these are supposed to be jain temple of 1st century ad..grah mean fort that was kingdom of king SINGH DEO and his dynesty.

SNAKE PARK:

This park is run under an amazing man, Mobarak Ansari. He is a true animal lover, especially snakes. he is local snake catcher. you can visit snake park which is near d.v.c hospital

HOW TO REACH:

BY ROAD: 

panchet is easily accessble by road from dhanbad (52 km),asansol (20) km.

from maithon dam it is 12 km far.

BY TRAIN:

Kumardhubi railway station (8 km) and barakar railway station (10 km) you can hire auto from these station.

WHERE TO STAY:

Rest house of W.B.F.D.C is nearest to the dam for lunch and some refreshment..

for night stay you should go for hotels in dhanbad and asansol.

MAITHON, Place to enjoy the nature..

MAITHON DAM 

One of the most renowned place in Dhanbad which is know for its natural beauty.

HISTORY: This resorvoir is under the authority of D.V.C and made in 1957 with the hydel power of 60mw each of 20mw..the resorvior is made over the BARAKAR river..

LOCATION: DHANBAD JHARKHAND

It is 48 km far from from Dhanbad city and 22 km from Asansole(w.b)

GET IN:

BY TRAIN: KUMARDHUBI(KMME) is the nearest railway station..it is 9 km distance from dam..you can also go through Dhanbad railway station and Asansol distance of 48km and 22 km respectively.

BY AIR: RANCHI airport is the closest airport 190km..and second one is KOLKATA 230km

BY ROAD: It is well connected with Dhanbad and Asansol by NH2 road.                    

                 Island connected by bridge also you can go by boat. 

                  You can stay maithon hotel and many of others               

                                      front of Hotel Barsha..

SULEMAN PARK: : Very less known park . This is private park and they have taken lease from DVC . In winter, it’s worth to go there. You can meet caretaker cum CEO Mr. Suleman welcoming you . Great place to have a family picnic. From DVC Dam , it’s located 6 Km off and located on the other side of the hills

Lastly before leaving you should enjoy the sun set view of Maithon dam

MAITHON DAM: It is the 60mw hydel project which was established in 1957 by the govt of india.it is 48 km from dhanbad..it is first underground power project in southeast asia..you can enjoy boating and fishing facilities here..little bit of distance from dam you can visit maa kalyaneswari temple too..

 

seeing the sunset view is the best option for you..just relaxed and watch the view with boat ride.

PANCHET DAM: it 120mw hydel project established in 1959 over the damodar river..distance between 60 to 65 km from..there is flower park also..you can enjoy the magnificient view of dam from the park..

                 when the dam gates are open the scenario of dam from park looks very amazing..
